Built to the South, Toward the Light

Some apartments you choose for the view, others you choose for the light. Ours faces south, and that changes everything. From morning to evening the sun comes in, the balcony lies in the warmth all day. In Provence light is no accident, it is the true material you build with.

Built to the south

The rooms face south, the balcony catches the sun from early to late. In summer you close the shutters in the morning and let the golden light in at evening. A house like this breathes with the day, it turns bright, then warm, then soft.

What light does to material

Only in the light does a material show who it is. The lime plaster turns velvety, the wood gains depth, the terracotta glows quietly, and the velvet of the curtains catches every hour differently. We don't furnish for the photograph, we furnish for the light. What stays beautiful through the sun's course stays beautiful for good.

The hour of sunset

In the evening Marseille turns golden. From the balcony you watch the city soak up the light and slowly give it back. That is the hour for a chair, a glass, nothing more. Anyone who has sat here understands why people move south.
